Imego’s Electromagnetic Sensor unit works with sensor systems related to various magnetic detection techniques. Together with customers from both large and small companies, we develop sensor systems and assist in magnetic analysis and characterisation. Magnetic sensor systems can be applied when object position and motion must be detected. They are also highly useful in moisture and viscosity detection and crystallisation process monitoring. Our outstanding laboratory facilities enable us to carry out both static and dynamic magnetic detection. Furthermore, a magnetically shielded room for low magnetic field and low noise measurements as well as equipment for microwave measurement up to 85 GHz mean we are able to conduct advanced research in-house.

Moisture & mass load detection | We have developed a sensor platform based on magnetoelastic resonance, specifically intended to remotely detect moisture, mass load, the characteristics of paint and glue and viscosity in different fluids. These sensors are passive (i.e. they have no requirement for batteries), disposable and cost effective.
In the area of traditional magnetic sensor systems, we use sensitive magnetic field sensors to detect the movements and positions of different objects. Furthermore, a sensitive magnetic characterization system designed to detect dynamic magnetic properties of various magnetic materials is also currently under development.
In the course of our activities, we work with magnetic nanoparticles and magnetic materials as well as assisting our customers in the characterisation of magnetic materials. To compliment our expertise, we also offer educational courses to industry. These courses cover areas such as general magnetism and magnetic nanoparticles as well studying the magnetic nanoparticle systems used in various bio-molecule detection systems.
As well as assisting external customers with magnetic material characterisation, Imego offers educational courses in general magnetism and magnetic nanoparticles. To further our expertise in this field, we are also building a sensitive magnetic characterisation system in order to detect the dynamic magnetic properties of various magnetic materials (magnetic particles in a liquid, different magnetic powders and magnetic films).
