Abstract
The present invention concerns sensor arrangements and particularly sensor arrangements for symmetric response in an x-, y- and z-coordinate system. The arrangement consists of four gyroscopes with one axis arranged in different directions of sensitivity.
Development at IMEGO
Inspired by our Quad Slanted Beam 3-axis accelerometer, we have extended the concept of over-determined sensor arrangements to gyros. Together with Swerea-IVF, we have designed and built a ceramic pyramid that forms a stable and temperature-matched Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) platform. The applications targeted are high-end MEMS inertial navigation systems.
