Wireless humidity-detection system uses inexpensive magnetoelastic-resonance (MER) sensors for wireless and remote detection of humidity. With this reader, an MER sensor can be detected at a distance of 40 cm. The wireless humidity detection system can be applied to measure humidity in places that are hard to reach, such as behind walls and in closed packages, and to monitor moisture in food, pulp and sand.
The wireless sensor system is under development as there is currently no general purpose system for sale. However, we have a few readout units and sensors for evaluation and development. We have conducted field tests of the system within many business areas, such as the automotive industry, the building industry and the personal-care industry.
