We pave the path between world-class research and industrialization
Custom Electric and Magnetic Sensors Systems Development
At Imego we have a solid working experience with most types of magnetic measurement techniques and we can design and develop suitable sensor systems for challenging applications. There are many different types of magnetic sensors on the market, like for instance magnetoresistive sensors, Hall sensor and induction coils. The sensor types all have different properties and it is essential to understand the strengths and weaknesses when selecting a sensor for a specific application. The complete sensor system is often cost effective and can be used in harsh environments and in high temperature conditions.
Simulation is a powerful tool when designing sensors and sensor systems. By combining simulations based on the finite element method (FEM), with our great skills in material properties, measurement techniques, electronic design and signal processing, we a have great platform for solving difficult problems within the field of electromagnetism.
We have several years of experience with magnetic materials, magnetic properties and magnetic characterization. We can help external customers to choose the right magnetic-particle system or the magnetic material in their applications as well as help with the magnetic characterization.
Imego has developed DynoMag, a portable AC Susceptometer for dynamic magnetic analysis. It has unrivaled performance with the largest frequency range available 1Hz - 500 kHz. This instrument can analyze magnetic samples in the form of liquids (f. ex. ferro fluids), powders, and solids. It creates a "magnetic fingerprint" of the material making it useful for a wide variety of applications ranging from measurements on size distribution of magnetic particle systems to geological soil analyses and medical diagnostics.
In addition, we have recently developed a high frequency version of the DynoMag system – DynoMag HF. With this new AC susceptometer Imego can today measure dynamic magnetic properties from 25 kHz to 10 MHz combined with a high magnetic sensitivity.
Magnetic Nanoparticles
Magnetic nanoparticles - magnetic particles with sizes from a few nanometers up to micrometers is a hot research topic. Nanotechnology development has provided us with the capability of designing magnetic properties not only by changing the material but also by changing the particle size. Depending on the size and subsequent change in magnetic property, the magnetic nanoparticles are used in different applications. Imego has expert knowledge in the field of magnetic characterization and analysis of magnetic particle systems.
A magnetoelastic material changes its dimensions when it is exposed to a magnetic field. A thin ribbon of a magnetoelastic material forms a magnetomechanical resonator like a small tuning fork. Magnetoelastic resonance (MER) sensors enable very low-cost wireless sensing of properties such as humidity, pressure, temperature, viscosity and biofilm growth.
